Looking after your details
The privacy policy for Church Crescent Podiatry. It explains what we do with the information you give us when you book an appointment, and what you can ask us for.
Who is responsible
Church Crescent Podiatry is a trading name of Lorna McClune Podiatrist, who is responsible for the information you enter when you book. You can reach us at 30 Church Crescent, Dumfries DG1 1DF, or on 01387 268381.
What we collect
When you book an appointment you give us your name, your contact details and the appointment you have chosen. Because we are a podiatry practice, this forms part of your health record.
Why we need it
To make and manage your appointment, to contact you about it, and to provide your podiatry care. In data protection terms we rely on the appointment being an agreement between us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and on the rules that allow a health professional to hold health information in order to provide treatment (Article 9(2)(h)).
Who else sees it
Your details are stored in Cliniko, the booking and records system this practice uses. Cliniko holds them on our behalf and does nothing else with them.
Your records are held on servers in the United Kingdom. Cliniko is an Australian company and works under a written agreement that requires it to protect your information to UK standards.
We do not sell your details, and we do not use them for marketing. We would only pass them to anyone else if you asked us to, if we needed to refer you for your care, or if the law required it.
How long we keep it
Your appointment details are kept as part of your clinical record, in line with the guidance podiatrists follow for health records:
- Adults: for at least 8 years after your last appointment.
- Children: until they are 25 years old.
What you can ask for
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and to have anything wrong put right. In some circumstances you can ask us to delete it, or to limit what we do with it, and you can object to how we use it. Just ask at your appointment, or ring the number above.
If you are not happy
Please tell us first and we will do our best to sort it out. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
